Research

Apart from the research works completed in the past from its own funds, numerous research and consultancy projects sponsored and funded by eminent organisations have been carried out by the Academy. The projects sponsored by UNDP, Ford Foundation, various agencies of Government of India (like Department of Personnel and Training and Ministry of Rural Development) and Government of Maharashtra were designed and completed by various centres of the Academy. The projects namely UNDP-ATI and UNDP-SIRD were aimed at Capacity Building at ATls and SIRDs. The production of distance learning and non-distance learning modules and syllabi for various training centres for rural development functionaries were its major achievements.

The recently established Research and Documentation Centre (RDC) at YASHADA guides formulation of research project proposals and carrying out and reporting research works related to policy formulation, evaluation studies, and documentation of successful cases or best practices. Publications

Publications help disseminate information mainly related to formulation, appraisal, monitoring, implementation and evaluation of the socio economic development schemes, projects and programmes in Maharashtra and other regions Research findings related to practical aspects of public / development administration and training and research activities are enabled by the Academy through several publications. Two journals, Ashwattha (English) and Yashmanthan (Marathi), are regularly published. Both the journals include thought-provoking articles related to theoretical and practical aspects of public and development administration and are being subscribed by numerous reputed government and non-government organisations and eminent personalities. About forty books have been published by YASHADA in the previous years.
