- AIMS of the Project : The government as well as the system functionaries (Bureaucracy) facilitate community managed process & programmes through inter-sectoral convergence at the lowest spatial levels including the vulnerable and deprived groups, with active partnership of the community, CBO’s, NGO’s, Corporate sector and International agencies.
- OBJECTIVES –
- ADVOCACY - To promote and advocate the institutionalization of community managed programming among government and bureaucracy for appropriate adoption in all state public policy and decision making.
- RESEARCH & DATABASE MANAGEMENT - To design, create & maintain an integrated database management system that will allow storing, analyzing, retrieving and disseminating relevant information to various stakeholders at all levels related to community through action and empirical research.
- TRAINING - To design, conduct and facilitate suitable training programmes on various aspects of community managed programming for comprehensive skill enhancement and appropriate attitudinal change amongst all stakeholders.
- Present Status – Several workshops and training programmes were organized and carried out both in YASHADA as well as in the districts. Major highlights of the interventions by CCMP are :
- After conducting field visits and Intersectoral workshops Qualitative changes were noted in the attitude of the district functionaries.
- Districts authorities have earmarked funds from the district budget for microplanning activities.
- Latur and Yavatmal have already initiated village planning and related activities from the funds available under different schemes.
- As a result of advocacy, the State Department of Women and Child Welfare has agreed to release IEC funds (Rs. 180 lakh) available under World Bank assisted ICDS project to initiate Microplanning in 5 districts of Nasik, Thane, Amravati, Gondia and Gadchiroli covering 9 blocks and 1250 villages.
- The partnership between the district authorities and NGO’s strengthened and the pace of work in Jalswaraj accelerated many folds without compromising the quality.
- Remarkable change has occurred in the involvement of community in the developmental activities
- In Latur, 34 out of 125 villages where microplanning was done in December/January become Open Defecation Free (ODF).
- Rs. 87 lakhs collected as public contribution in Jalswarajya in a period of 20 days.
- Several villages have gone in for both individual as well as community biogas.
- Villagers have started community monitoring of Aaganwadi, school and also voluntary weighing of children is in practice with close interaction with Anganwadi Sevika and ANM.
- Women participation in the Gram Sabha increased substantially.
Currently, the Centre has envisaged the following for next 3 years:
- Further concerted efforts towards state level advocacy.
- Ensuring strong & stable component of Database Management with its utility for MIS at block, district and state level.
- Initiating field based action research on community participation to figure out various threshold and critical points of Programme ownership.

- Training with specific reference to preparing modules by capturing community dynamics.
