YASHADA Library's mandate is to support the ongoing training programmes, research projects and cater to the documentary as well as informational requirements of the participants. During last couple of years, YASHADA library has grown both in volume and in importance.

Collection

The library houses collection of various documents covering Public Administration, Rural Development, Good Governance, Computer Applications, Management, Gender, Women and Child, Old Age, Self Help Groups, Cooperative Movement, Social Justice, Finance, Administrative Reforms, Human Rights, Environment, Disaster Management Demography, Ageing, Water Conservation, Urbanization etc.

Books

In year 2007-08 the library has added 1956 books to its existing collection It has now 44102 books. Similarly 222 CDs are added to its collection.

Journals

Library receives 123 journals on the relevant topics and also has subscribed to 23 newspapers.

State Repository Library Membership

Library offers temporary membership to all course participants. In the year 2233 participants used the library facility. The officer who wishes to retain his membership even after the training programme can become a member by paying annual fees and deposit for the books. The similar facility can also be availed by the guest faculty and other executives and officers in and around the Pune city. During the year 52 such officers became members of our library.

Use of Library

9712 number of books were issued out and 9410 books were returned by the users. Apart from books in circulation library is also being used for reference and selective reading material for various training programmes.

Institutional Membership

YASHADA library became a corporate member of the British Library and made the facilities of that library available to the faculty members.

New Activities

• The entrance for library from "Partambi" gave new look which is unique for the library users. This gave the natural environment for serious studies.
• Special drive for culling out the damaged and outdated books was taken and total 1904 books worth Rs. 1,13,047.51 was taken out of the main collection.
• New racks for magazines were purchased for replacing the wooden old ones.
• Functional area for library working within the library gave more functional space and connivance for the library staff.
